A St. Germain man is facing charges in Vilas County Circuit Court for a May 4 incident at Little St. Germain Lake during federally-guaranteed tribal harvest.
The Vilas County District Attorney's office confirms 61 year old James Alan Kelsey has been charged with Operating a Firearm While Intoxicated, Disorderly Conduct, both misdemeanors, and two modifiers, a hate crime and use of a dangerous weapon.
According to the Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission website, about 10:00 pm, tribal harvesters reported alleged harassment and gunshots on Little Saint Germain Lake.
Local law enforcement and Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC) enforcement personnel responded to a local residence and boat landing.
Kelsey is set to make an initial appearance in Vilas County Circuit Court on June 8.
