Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is out to create a “community of communities” in support of public health and safety measures.

The "We're All In" initiative aims to reach every person in Wisconsin through social media, advertising and other outreach efforts and give them opportunities to actively participate in the state’s recovery effort.

One of the outreach sessions was held in Rhinelander Thursday morning. Regional Economic Development Director Jim Rosenberg says WEDC is ramping down with it's COVID relief grants for small businesses.

He says WEDC is starting this new effort..

. "...encouraging safe practices with masks, signage, reminding people that we are 'all in' as far as safety measures. We think it's key to getting our economy fully opened and it really isn't just yet..."

Rosenberg says if they can get people to use safe practices, it will shorten the length of time restricti ons will be in place.

"We hope people will be back to some kind of normal. I don't know if that's a 'new normal' or not. But while we're dealing with this, waiting for a vaccine and all that, we still need to have an economy that supports our communities and families..."

Rosenberg says residents are encouraged to capture and share images of themselves social distancing with friends or family, wearing masks and doing other things and to share these photos on social media with the hashtag #WeAreAllIn.

Businesses are invited to take and share pictures of their safe practices designed to help customers, clients and employees stay healthy.
