The Forest County Sheriff’s Office is asking parents to look for suspicious vials in their child’s Halloween candy.

The sheriff’s office got called to Wabeno Elementary School Tuesday. A vial was found in an 8-year-old’s Halloween candy bag.

Deputies say the vial was from XN-L Check, which the manufacturer Sysmex Nordic advised was a synthetic blood used to test XN-Series hematology system’s.

It’s considered a biohazard and is not supposed to leave a medical laboratory setting.

Police say the child had been trick-or-treating at the Wabeno Elementary School’s Trunk or Treat event.

The sheriff’s office is asking parent to notify your local law enforcement if any suspicious vials are found in your child’s Halloween candy.
