Missing hiker found dead near Potato River Falls

UW Health, Iron County Sheriff's Office

A missing hiker was found dead near the Potato River Falls in Iron County Sunday morning.

Sheriffs found the body of Kelsey Musgrove, a UW Health Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellow from Middleton, WI around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

The cause of her death is under investigation, but sheriffs do not suspect foul play.

Musgrove was reported missing on Wednesday, March 30, when she never returned from a hiking trip.

The Middleton Police Department contacted the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, which found Musgrove’s car in the parking area for the Potato River Falls.

The Sheriff’s Office, along with the help of 25 outside organizations, then began an air, land and water search for the missing woman.

Based on information from her family and friends, police believe Musgrove reached the falls in Gurney on Saturday, March 26, went hiking, but never returned to her car.
