Trees For Tomorrow Again Offering Seedlings For Sale

Trees For Tomorrow

Planting trees during the warming spring weather can be accomplished through Trees For Tomorrow in Eagle River. For more than 75 years, Trees For Tomorrow (TFT) has provided tree seedlings to the public interested in reforestation.

Seedling Program Coordinator Juli Welnetz says the seedlings are in dirt. She says the public can order as many as available. The effort is a fundraiser for the non-profit natural resources specialty school in Eagle River.

She says they have several varieties including red pine, white pine, a northern white cedar and a Norway spruce...

"Because of COVID-19 and the extra measures we're taking here on campus orders have to be placed and paid for in advance. So either you can go to our website(treesfortomorrow.com) and find the seedling information there or give me a call at Trees For Tomorrow..."

Welnetz says for more information , call (715) 479-6456, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, Welnetz says heartier tree species do well in the sandy soils found in much of Wisconsin.

The cost is $1.50 per seedling and are available until inventory runs out, typically at the end of summer. She says the trees can be kept in their “cell” for weeks if watered regularly.
