One person has died of injuries suffered in a work place accident at Pukall Lumber in Arbor Vitae.

At 7:18 am on Tuesday January 29, 2019, The Vilas County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from Pukall Lumber Company reporting a 30- year- old male employee was trapped in one of the belt conveyors. Upon arrival of the ambulance crew, it was determined the individual was deceased due to injuries. The identity of the individual will not be released at this time pending notification of family.
The incident is non-criminal in nature and will be investigated by Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Arbor Vitae Fire and Rescue, Howard Young Med 5 Ambulance, Vilas County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident.
