Vilas County Sheriff Joe Fath displays the award given to jail administrator Bill Weiss by the National Sheriff’s Association for his development of the alcohol and drug recovery program in the jail using many community programs and services.
“This is the 2020 Association Jail Innovation of the Year award and is most prestigious due to the selection is by a panel of judges,” Sheriff Fath said. “There are many facilitators that work with the recovery program and they should feel pride their involvement has been recognized by the national association.”
Sheriff Fath indicates his office gets lots of phone calls from both inside and outside Wisconsin about the recovery program.
