Rhinelander Rotary Hosts Online Fundraiser in Honor of 100 Years of Service

Rotary Club of Rhinelander

For 100 years, the Rhinelander Rotary has impacted the community.

During that time, it has helped support local businesses and organizations through fundraisers.

It’s also helped bring students from overseas to live in our community and sent student from here to other countries to study.

John O’Melia is a Rhinelander Rotary Board member. His grandfather was one of the charter members brough the group to Rhinelander in 1920.

“What Rhinelander Rotary has done all these years, is a service organization for business people to meet, have lunch, exchange ideas and in the process to raise money both by dues and doing fundraisers to turn that money back into the community by providing grants to various organizations who put an application in,” said O’Melia.

Because of COVID-19, the Rotary hasn’t been able to put on its normal fundraisers. Now, It’s trying something different.

In honor of its 100th year, the Rotary is holding online sales of bourbon whiskey, chocolate, and flowers.
Rotary Member Heather Shallock says the items are all coming from local businesses.

“There are plenty of choices to support local retailers, support a local service organization like the Rhinelander Rotary Club, and also get some Christmas gift shopping done whether it’s for someone else or yourself,” said Shallock.

You can buy the items through the Rotary.
