Rhinelander Community Foundation Looking for “Unsung Difference Makers”

Katie Thoresen/WXPR

There are people in our communities that make a difference.

Those people that put in countless volunteer hours and go out of their way to help others.

The Rhinelander Community Foundation wants to honor those Unsung Difference Makers.

Board Member Steve Michlig says the Community Foundation is now accepting nominations.

“What I’ve seen is persons who really devote their lives to community organizations. They take ownership of those volunteer’s organizations and I’ve seen many people throughout the community who do that and I just feel that they never get this sort of reward or recognition that they deserve,” said Michlig.

This is the second year the Community Foundation has recognized Unsung Difference Makers.

This year they’re focused on people who are members of volunteer organizations.

The Community Foundation will recognize some nominees and one will be selected to choose where the foundation should donate $250.

You can nominate someone on the Rhinelander Community Foundation website.

Nominations are due by the end of the month.

Katie Thoresen is WXPR's News Director/Vice President.
