Chequamegon School Board votes to require masks indoors

Chequamegon School District Facebook

The Chequamegon School Board voted to require masks indoors at a special meeting Monday.

The move comes after 200 students were quarantined because of COVID-19, forcing classes to go virtual early in the school year.

The board says requiring masks and social distancing means the district won’t have to quarantine as many students if one contracts COVID.

The board also voted to allow extra-curricular activities and elective classes.

It says athletes don’t need to wear masks while competing or practicing, but should put them on when they’re not playing.

Fans at indoor events will also be required to wear masks.

All changes will go into effect this Monday, September 27th.
