Winter recreation opportunities melt away with the warm temperatures, as Vilas County announced that snowmobile trails close as of 8:00 a.m. Friday.
The Vilas County Forestry, Recreation and Land Department said in a press release that the 11 Vilas County Snowmobile Alliance Clubs did an incredible job of grooming and trail maintenance this past snowmobile season.
Vilas County has over 500 miles of state funded and club trails.
Oneida County trails closed Thursday.
