Archery and crossbow deer-hunting seasons opened Sept. 18.

This weekend marked the start of the archery and crossbow deer hunting season.

In 2020, archery and crossbow hunters harvested more than 110-thousand deer, including more than 64,000 bucks, an increase from 2019.

WXPR’s Katie Thoresen sat down with Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Conservation Warden Tim Otto to talk about what you need to know as the season gets under way.

It’s part of WXPR’s new series “All Things Outdoors” to keep you updated on outdoor recreation in the Northwoods.

You can learn more about the deer hunting season on the DNR's website.
