Nonprofits of the Northwoods: Wisconsin Women in Conservation

Wisconsin Women in Conservation

Wisconsin Women in Conservation is a statewide collaborative effort to bring together women landowners to connect and learn about conservation practices, resources and funding opportunities.

Women landowners are a growing demographic in Wisconsin. They make up about 35 percent of the state’s producers.

But they’ve historically been underserved and underrepresented in the media.

Wisconsin Women in Conservation aims to change that.

Listen to the full interview with Conservation Coach Stacey Botsford to learn more about the initiative’s virtual summer program and ways to get involved.

WXPR’s Nonprofits of the Northwoods spotlights organizations in our area that are working to strengthen the community – whether that’s by lending a hand to someone in need, educating about the arts, or caring for the environment.

Erin Gottsacker worked at WXPR as a Morning Edition host and reporter from December 2020 to January 2023. During her time at the station, Erin reported on the issues that matter most in the Northwoods.
