Pumpkin Fest Saturday In Three Lakes Helps TL Fire Department

An event this weekend at the Three Lakes High School helps provide resources for the Three Lakes Fire Department.

The 27th annual Pumpkin Fest is set for Saturday from 9:30 to 3 p.m. Event spokesperson Mary Babich is a member of the fire department auxiliary...

"...It's an event that supports the Three Lakes Fire Department. Over the years we've purchased all kinds of safety equipment and training. This kind of boosts that and also supports the community in various emergency ways...."

Babich says all of the profits from the event go to the Three Lakes fire department....

"....Last year we bought a very sophisticated drone for the fire department which has an infra-red capability. As an example, a child or older person wander off into the woods, this drone can fly above and help the fire department with a rescue..."

The event is all indoors at the high school and has 100 booths, a mini-Farmer's Market, and a bake sale. Among the raffle items are an autographed 100th anniversary season football from the Green Bay Packers. The Three Lakes Winery will conduct tours of cranberry bogs. There are also baskets with donations.

Babich says there's no admission and parking is free. She says a donation of a non-perishable food item for the food pantry is appreciated.
