He mostly preferred the latter, until the slow gravitational pull of public radio drew him away altogether. At KUER, he covers a little bit of everything, paying special attention to quality of life issues and the economy.

  • My name is Ali Pichowski and I am the secretary on the WXPR Board of Directors. I grew up in Rhinelander and have always taken pride in being from The Northwoods. I was a teacher for the last decade and now work at Nicolet College and through both of these roles, I've felt an intense drive to be part of making this community the absolute best it can be. For me, it is crucial to reflect the larger world in our area while also staying true to who we are locally. That's what WXPR does; it highlights the amazing things happening here but also shares glimpses of the wide world around us. I love getting to be part of an organization that shares beautiful art, exciting music, influential information, and global ideas in our community.
