A fire early Sunday morning at an apartment complex in Rhinelander displaced 26 residents. Meanwhile, a massive car crash on Highway 51 near Wausau involved 40 vehicles and left 10 people hurt. A daycare center, basketball fight and bear survey
The Wisconsin Assembly is scheduled to vote on several education bills today, while school board members in Antigo vote on a plan to partner with a daycare center. The district hopes having easy access to childcare will help retain and attract new employees. The Big Ten announced penalties for Wisconsin and Michigan’s head basketball coaches after the two got into a fight following Sunday’s game. Wakefield set for jury trial, Feed Our Rural Kids expands, and Eagle River’s community square
Seth Wakefield, accused of helping plan the murder of Hannah Miller, is set to go to trial in September on a homicide charge. The Wisconsin GOP-ordered 2020 election investigation has been extended through the end of April. Feed Our Rural Kids is expanding its Weekend Backpack program to Three Lakes. And the task force charged with developing the community square in Eagle River started reviewing plans last week.
