As temperatures get up into the 80s this week, kids in Rhinelander have a new place to cool off. The Vancos Family Community Splash Pad at Hodag Park is now open.

A Rhinelander steering committee is working to raise $1.5 million to build at state-of-the-art skate park at Hodag Park.While fundraising continues, local skateboarders are working to build the sport.

A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony happens Friday, May 22nd.

The entirely volunteer-run light display at Hodag Park starts December 1st.

Community members gathered at Hodag Park in Rhinelander Wednesday for the groundbreaking of a new splash pad.

The current goal is for the splash pad to be put in this summer and the playground next year.

The Kiwanis Club of Rhinelander is spearheading a fundraising campaign to build a new playground and splash pad at Hodag Park.The Rhinelander City Council approved moving forward with the plan at its recent meeting.

In providing an update to council, Reagan said there appeared to be a “disconnect” between former public works director Randy Myrum and the skate park group over where the park should be located.

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, and holiday light displays are on their way to the Northwoods. The display at Hodag Park in Rhinelander will light up for the first time this Friday.

Construction on Rhinelander’s Hodag Park stage and amphitheater is nearly complete. The community is celebrating Wednesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and its first live music event at the venue.
