en.wikipedia.org

The star high school hockey player is returning to Eagle River this weekend with his college team to benefit local ice efforts.

Board member of the Eagle River Recreation Association(ERRA) Natalie Spiess talks about this weekend's event at the Eagle River dome east of town..

"..UW-Stout Blue Devils will be playing a college hockey game against Finlandia at the Dome in Eagle River. It's a fundraiser for the ERRA which is the organization that promotes youth hockey and figure skating. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 at the door. Nicolet National Bank in Eagle River will be matching ticket sales up to $1,500..."

Spiess says a Northland Pines star is coming back to town...

"Adam Kresl, who played for Northland Pines, is now a member of that hockey team. It worked out with their schedule that they could stop here and play here in the community where he grew up and bring his team here to see what the great thing is about Eagle River and play in the historic dome..."

The match between Division 3 rivals UW-Stout and Finlandia begins at 7:00 p.m. Spiess says they're also asking the public to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the local food pantry.
