A debate has been scheduled for November 1 in Minocqua involving the two candates for the 7th Congressional District. The public is invited.

Incumbent Republican Sean Duffy will debate Democratic challenger Margaret Engebretson at Lakeland Union High School.

District Administrator James Bouche says the school is pleased to be able to host the event...

"...We were very excited about the opportunity. Right now we want to make sure we have everything in place to put on a very good and informative evening November 1 at Lakeland Union High School at 6:00 o'clock..."

Bouche says the debate will follow a traditional format...

"...We're looking at a standard debate format. We're looking at having a moderator and a panel of local news media people asking questions We're looking at something that's acceptable for both parties and not something that's real complex. Something to get both individuals talking about the issues of northern Wisconsin...."

Duffy began serving in 2011, succeeding long-time Democrat David Obey. This is Engebretson's first effort toward public office.
