There’s a call for entries for the Wisconsin Regional Arts Program, also known as WRAP, to be held at Nicolet College in June. Katy Ralph is the gallery director at Nicolet College, and she encourages all artists over the age of 14 to send in their original work.
"And that is for anybody who does any kind of art: 2 dimensional, 3 dimensional. They don’t need to be a practicing artist, and may never have shown their work before, but we just want people to get their work on the walls."
The deadline for entries is May 17th. All 2D work should be framed and ready to hang on the walls.
Similar regional shows are taking place around the state this summer. Katy Ralph says this show is a wonderful opportunity for artists.
"The program was developed decades to support people especially in rural areas who didn’t have anywhere to put their art, and so it was begun by the University of Wisconsin especially for that purpose."
Roughly one-third of the art from the WRAP show will be selected for display in a state-wide art show in Madison this fall. That show is juried and carries a monetary award.
The WRAP show at Nicolet College is open June 2nd through 28th.
