52nd Annual Beef-A-Rama Friday, Saturday In Minocqua

en.wikipedia.org

Continuing a tradition lasting for more than a half-century, Minocqua is hosting Beef-A- Rama Friday and Saturday.

The two day event celebrates everything beef and is expected to bring tens of thousands of beef lovers and the curious to the community. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Krystal Westfahl says the event began 52 years ago as Fish-A-Rama...

"....it started out pretty much as a thank you to all the visitors who have been coming to visit our beautiful area in many different ways. It has morphed into what is now Beef A Rama. So it's really an opportunity for all the people downtown to participate by roasting beef on the street, saying thanks to the visitors, giving out free goodies and things like that to say thanks to everybody for coming out and having such a great summer...."

Live music with the Lincoln Boys starts the activities Friday night, and continues early Saturday morning with the Rump Roast Run at 7 a.m., followed by a myriad of activities all day.

The highlight is the annual Parade of Beef at 2:15 p.m. with the awards ceremony at 3:00p.m. for the best judged beef roast.

The Minocqua Chamber of Commerce has a specific website for the event atbeefarama.com
