Rhinelander Church Collecting Items For Hurricane Relief

Wikimedia Commons

The First United Methodist Church in Rhinelander is hoping the public contributes to hurricane disaster relief efforts they've started.

Pastor Keith Wolf says they are collecting items for hurricane victims, be they in Texas, Florida or the Caribbean....

"....we work with an organization called Midwest Mission Distribution Center near Springfield, Illinois. They're a partner with the United Methodist Church. They take items in and distribute them to where they are needed most...."

Pastor Wolf outlines what items they would like to see donated....

"...the immediate needs include things like laundry detergent, dish detergent, personal items like deodorant, tooth brushes and tooth paste, cleaning solutions and ordinary household cleaners. There is a list on our website and that's Rhinelander UMC.org "

Pastor Wolf says all items must be news, and all items must be free of advertising, religious, patriotic, military or camouflage symbols. He says money donations are also appreciated. The items will be collected until October 6.

First United Methodist Church is at 724 Arbutus St. Pastor Wolf says if you have questions to call the church office(715-362-2091).
