Foundation Grant Illuminates Rhinelander's Holiday Downtown

RCF check presentation for downtown lights

Rhinelander's downtown should have a bit more of the holiday feel after a significant grant from the Rhinelander Community Foundation.

Foundation spokesperson Sue Makris describes the gift...

"....$13,000 were granted for our enhancements on the holiday light display that Downtown Rhinelander, Inc. has been working on and partnering with the city. Last year they put the snowflakes up and this year they're adding the lighted pole wraps which this grant is being used to assist with...."

The downtown lighting in an ongoing project for Downtown Rhinelander, Inc. They've been working on replacing holiday lighting for several years. Makris says the new lights replace ones used for many years and are much more energy efficient. She says it will give the downtown an updated look for the holidays.

The Rhinelander Community Foundation awards grants for projects that positively impact the Rhinelander community. The Community Foundation will be announcing a new competitive grant and review process, set to begin in 2019.
