Still Time To Donate To "The Big Bundle Up"

As the coldest days of winter begin to settle in, Northwoods residents have responded to the Department of Tourism's call to help others needing warm winter clothing.

Called "The Big Bundle Up", the promotion was sponsored by several Northwoods Chambers of Commerce. The public donates warm clothing to be distributed in the community.

At the Rhinelander Chamber, spokesperson Mia Slizewski says they have had an excellent turnout so far...

"We're pushing 689 items received to date and it's not over..."

The Big Bundle Up ends on January 2.

In Minocqua, Chamber Director Krystal Westfahl reports 170 items donated, which is a record year there. Those items go to the Lakeland Food Pantry.

In Boulder Junction, Director Theresa Smith reported 188 items donated which will be donated to the community food pantry.

At the Land O' Lakes Chamber, Director Kathy Hillmer reported about 20 items. T

he Rhinelander donations head to the monthly Warm For Winter pantry, distributed the last Saturday of the month at 900 Boyce Drive in Rhinelander.
