Kohl's Gives $10,000 To YMCA Of The Northwoods

YMCA of the Northwoods

The YMCA of the Northwoods has received one of 300 grants nationwide to help kids and families.

The Rhinelander Kohl's store nominated the "Y" for its "Kohl's Cares" $10,000 grant.

YMCA of the Northwoods CEO Ryan Zeitlow talks about the grant...

"...We're very excited to hear the news from Kohl's. Our local Kohl's store nominated us and through Kohl's corporate we were able to receive a $10,000 grant from them. They were looking for organizations that give back to youth and health and wellness aspects for families within their local communities. It was a great opportunity for us and our focal area to receive this and reinvest in our community...."

Zeitlow says the money will help develop new programs...

"...There's three different programs were launching shortly. "Family Zone, Y Zone and Power Zone". It goes across the ages to get families and kids more active and connected in the community. It's going to allow us to make sure we start boff on the right foot with those programs and offer more opportunities for the community in order to come together and strengthen collectively...."

Rhinelander Kohl's associates volunteered at 23 events around the community during the past year. When associates volunteer for 5 or more events of more than 3 hours each, the non-profit also received a matching grant of $500. It's reported $14,000 has been distributed to 14 area non-profits in 2018.
