AAUW Annual Book Sale Thur.-Saturday At Rhinelander HS

The Northwoods Branch of American Association of University Women is holding a book sale this week to help support scholarships for women returning as students. Past branch president Chris Ebert explains what is happening....

"...We have a gently used book sale at the high school in Rhinelander Thursday through Saturday from 8-5 each day. We use the proceeds from this book sale for scholarships for adult returning women at Nicolet College..."

Chris Ebert says they have thousands of titles representing nearly every possible genre. Sales generate money that goes to the Nicolet College Foundation to help selected women who return to school at Nicolet College.

Ebert says they also will have four area women authors reading their works Friday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Rhinelander High School Library with refreshments.

"..The four authors are Cheryl Hanson reading "To Reap the Finest Wheat", Callie Bates, reading "The Waking Land Trilogy", Amy Laundrie(landry) who wrote, "Stories from a Joyful Heart", and Beth Tornes, "Between the Dog and the Wolf, New Moon and Snowbound"

The Book Sale had been a main component of the Rhinelander School of the Arts, held for more than 50 years in late July in Rhinelander. The school was discontinued by UW-Madison and was resurrected by ArtStart in Rhinelander and is now held in late September.

More information on the book sale is on the WXPR website under community calendar.
