Jeans For Teens Collection To Help Local Youth Who Need Clothes

WXPR

--

An effort to help the needy this season comes to a close soon, and a Rhinelander High School club says there's still time to donate.

The annual FBLA/DECA Jeans for Teens drive is an effort to give clothing for those who can't afford it.

Senior Kendra Durkee says maybe those jeans you received for Christmas don't fit so they can find a good home...

"...Anyone can donate. You can stop by any of the dropoff locations. I know Northern Grounds has one, any local business around town. You just drop off any jeans that don't fit you or are worn out and we donate them to Frederick Place(homeless shelter)."

Junior Ashleigh Hull tells us the drop off locations around Rhinelander....

"..Local businesses, I believe all the local schools are participating in it. Some of the downtown area(businesses) out by Walmart are doing it, and the YMCA is participating as well..."

Besides the schools in the district and those places mentioned, Maurices, Rhinelander District Library, A La Mode, Bath and Body Creations, and Northern Coffee are drop off sites.

17 percent of Northwoods youth live below poverty level.
