Wisconsin Public Service employees from the Northwoods are among the crew members heading to Flint, Michigan to restore power.
Southern Michigan all the way to the east coast was hit with icing conditions last weekend, leading to millions of people without power.
WPS spokesperson Lisa Prunty says some of the crew members heading to lower Michigan are from the Northwoods...

"....about 50 employees between the Upper Peninsula Power Company and Wisconsin Public Service crews. We have a couple guys from Minocqua, Merrill, several from Wausau and also from Wausaukee..."

Prunty says they hope the crews will be able to start heading home by Sunday. Some households in lower Michigan have been without power for several days.
