Northland Pines One Of 22 Schools To Get WPS Grant

en.wikipedia.org

A Northland Pines High School project has picked up one of 22 grants to Innovative Educators through Wisconsin Public Service Foundation.

The Northland Pines project is called "School to Home Energy Investigation" says WPS spokesperson Leah VanZile, who says the school will receive $1,000 and they will also get a curriculum to go along with the money....

"....all physical science students, about 100 students at Northland Pines, and all chemistry students, about 75 students will be impacted by this project..."

The students will study how to save money on energy use, lighting and other topics. The money was given to middle and high school educators. An independent panel of judges from the energy education field selected the finalists. $22,000 was presented to schools within the WPS service area.

The Wisconsin Public Service Foundation is funded by shareholders of WPS, not by electric or natural gas customers.
