Merrill’s first K9 officer died unexpectedly over the weekend.
Merrill Police said in a Facebook post Eros was 11 years old and had recently had some complications discovered during a veterinary appointment.
Those complications led to his unexpected passing just a couple of days later.
The K9 officer had lived a life of service before his recent retirement with the Drabek family.
