As Classes Begin, Superintendent Hopes for Smooth Transport

Don O'Brien

It's time for the first day of school.

Rhinelander School District Superintendent Kelli Jacobi plans to visit all district schools in the first two weeks of classes.  She’s hoping school bus logistics will run more smoothly than last year.

“I want to see how the transportation routes are going. We know that the first week or two are not going to be perfect. Because kids forget where they’re going and – different things happen. But we want to make sure it’s better than it has been in the past, and to smooth out any of those rough spots in the first few days of school.”

Last year the school district took significant criticism from parents when kids riding the bus were dropped off late or boarded the wrong one.   Superintendent Jacobi says the school district has been talking daily with Bowen’s Bus Service to make sure logistics are in place for the start of school.
