Burke, Happ, Westlund Make Final Campaign Swing Here

WXPR news

Three Democrats hoping to win state or federal jobs Tuesday stopped in Rhinelander Saturday morning.

Candidate for Governor Mary Burke says she optimistic heading into the vote..

"....I can't wait to get to work as Governor as we have so much  potential here in Wisconsin and if we just put the politics aside, focus on common sense, focus on strong growing communities, that people get that fair shot...."

Attorney General candidate Susan Happ outlines her priorities..

"....we're obviously going to have to tackle this heroin, opiate epidemic that we see raging in every county in the state, certainly Internet crimes against children, we've got predators on the Internet literally trolling and preying on our kids, the other half of the office besides public protection is environmental protection..."

Congressional candidate Kelly Westlund says a key issue is helping out students deeply in debt....

"......students should be really unhappy with the fact our government looks at them as profit centers. The big banks that crashed the economy, when the taxpayers bailed them out, they got a better interest rate than students do through the Department of Education. That's wrong..."

Political observers say the winners in tomorrow's races will be the candidates that get more of  their core supporters out.
