LDF Construction Awarded Large Government Contract
Lac du Flambeau Construction was awarded a sizeable contract recently to do significant upgrades on a federal recreation site in Westboro, Wisconsin.
LDF Construction is a part of LDF Business Development Corporation. The award is for just over $1.0 million. LDF Construction will restore, rehabilitate and re-roof the Mondeaux lodge, quarters building, garage, and a variety of other site work.
LDF Construction President Randy Soulier says the award by the U.S. Forest Service benefits companies like this one...
"...It falls in line with what the 8(a) program is meant to do and that's to challenge minority-owned companies to work within the federal government's contract space with other firms that are far larger than our firm, LDF Construction...."
Soulier says the award is the result of more than a year of patient, persistent efforts. It's the fourth federal construction project LDF Construction has worked on for the U.S. government...
"When it's all said and done, to garner great reviews, we've done that, and we've been blessed. Our fourth project has not started yet but that will be doing the work, residing and renovating some of the USDA's office in Rhinelander...."
Soulier says state and federal government agencies offer certifications to encourage a diverse network of suppliers on government projects. In addition to being a certified construction contractor in the U.S. Small Business Administration 8(a) Business Development Program, LDF Construction also is certified to participate in the Wisconsin Department of Administration's Minority Business Enterprise Program.
