Antigo Police, K9 Units Search Nicolet For Kayla Berg

lostnmissing.com

Antigo Police over the weekend were involved in a search for Kayla Berg, the missing Antigo teen who disappeared in 2009.

Kayla Berg's case has made national headlines, but few substantial leads have come in. She was last seen in Wausau on August 11, 2009.

A department release said they searched the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in eastern Langlade county.

Captain Daniel Duley reported the latest search did not reveal any new information, he says more work needs to be done. The search area was chosen based on information that had been gathered throughout the investigation.

The search involved 7 K9 teams and other law enforcement members covering an area about 11 square miles. The area included part of the blow down from last July's large storm.

No further information will be released on this effort, but Captain Duley said the department is continuing its search.
