The Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) Foundation is partnering with the Wisconsin Technical College System to provide technical college scholarships to area high school seniors.
Applications for the scholarships are now being accepted. Among the six technical colleges where the scholarships apply are Nicolet College and Northcentral Technical College.
WPS spokesperson Matt Cullen outlines the program..
"Scholarships of $750 are available to students eligible to receive those scholarships. Those scholarships are based on academic achievement, school and community leadership activities as well as financial need. Students who think they are interested in applying for these scholarships or might want to learn more about them, can visit our website at Wisconsin Public Service.com .. "
This is the 56th year the WPS Foundation has offered the technical college scholarships as part of its focus on supporting area students and enhancing student learning.
Last fall, the WPS Foundation awarded $20,000 to 27 students through its technical college scholarships. Cullen says since the inception of the WPS Foundation, more than $5.2 million in scholarships have been awarded.
