Unavailabilty Of Two Voting Sites Moves Some Rhinelander Voting To High School

Pixabay.com

To protect the public, the City of Rhinelander has changed where some voters will go to cast ballots on April 7.

City Clerk Val Foley says some of the buildings routinely used for elections will not be available this election.

The Oneida County Aging & Disability Resource Center in Trig's parking lot is unavailable, as is the Oneida County Sheriff's Department. Both facilities are trying to limit public contact during the coronavirus outbreak.

Voters who had gone to either location will all now be at a  new location: the Rhinelander High School gymnasium.

Foley recommends that citizens take advantage of absentee ballots. She says this method will cut down on crowds at polling places on election day, and make social distancing easier.

Voters can find out their polling spots and more information at the website myvote.wi.gov and click on find my polling place.
