Northwoods residents can help out as the American Red Cross is bringing a blood drive to Lac du Flambeau Thursday to get some badly needed donations.
Blood representative Marc Sutton details the drive...
"...On October 10, we'll be holding a blood drive at Lake of the Torches Casino in Lac du Flambeau. So if anyone is heading to the casino or are in the area we're going to be at the casino in the middle entrance by the hotel from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help meet the current blood supply needs...."
Sutton says if anyone is interested in donating blood you should go to the American Red Cross website at red cross blood dot org and after entering your zip code, it will list where you can donate. You can also sign up to donate then. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Sutton says there's a need for blood...
"There is a constant need and we're coming into a time when weather starts to hit. There's weather cancellations. We have holidays coming up in November. It was a particularly hard summer this year with an increased need all summer long. We're playing catch up with the blood supply needs...."
Sutton says all blood types are needed.
