Fire struck a home in the Oneida County Town of Pelican Monday afternoon.
Firefighters from a number of departments joined the Pelican Fire Department to fight the fire on Riverbend Road.
Those inside the home were able to get out, but a family cat did not survive.
The home suffered heavy fire, water and smoke damage.
Firefighters were on the scene for two and a half hours.
