Passerby Discovers Week-Old Lincoln County Highway Crash Which Killed Two

On Saturday, passersby and police discovered a deadly car crash in Lincoln County that apparently happened a week earlier.

On Saturday afternoon, a passerby reported finding a crashed SUV near the intersection of Highway 8 and Highway CC between Tomahawk and Tripoli. The SUV wasn’t easily visible from the road, and snow had covered the car.

Investigators found two Medford men dead in the SUV, Andrew Griffin Jr., 23, and his brother, Elisha Griffin, 18. Both had been reported missing.

Investigation showed the SUV had likely crashed a week before, late in the evening of Saturday, April 11. Police believe the car left the road and rolled over.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office believes the crash is a traffic fatality and no other contributing factors are involved.

The deaths are the second and third on Lincoln County roads in 2020.
