It could be a few months until everyone is eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine, but until then Wausau city leaders are asking residents to do their part by wearing a mask.
The campaign is called "Wear One Wausau." It is a city wide initiative to encourage everyone to continue wearing their masks.
Mayor Katie Rosenberg said this is so it doesn't come off as harsh as a mask ordinance would. Instead it's encouraging everyone to wear a mask.
"This is about public health. It is about keeping everyone safe so that is what we are doing here," Mayor Rosenberg said.
The campaign includes social media posts and a billboard.
The mayor is encouraging people to tweet photos of themselves wearing a mask.
