Bill Miller Memorial Golf Scramble to Benefit NATH & Frederick Place

Earlier this year, the Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing [NATH] made the difficult decision to cancel its biggest fundraiser of the year.

The anniversary benefit, usually held in February, brings in more money than any other event for the non-profit focused on ending homelessness in the Northwoods.

“And of course, it was our ten-year anniversary. We were hoping for it to be a bigger and better event than it had been in the past, but we’ll shoot for 2022 on that one,” said NATH Executive Director Tammy Modic.

In the meantime, Modic is focused on fundraising to support the needs of NATH and Frederick Place, a homeless shelter in Rhinelander.

Needs Modic say have not lessened since it opened 10 years ago.

“During the last year our numbers were a little down; however, due to COVID and the eviction moratorium our residents were not able find affordable housing, even more so than in the past,” she said.

All of the money raised at the upcoming Bill Miller Memorial Golf Scramble will stay in Rhinelander to help the 14 people currently living at Frederick Place and anyone else who need support from NATH.

The event is June 6th at Northwood Golf Club.

NATH is looking for four-person teams to sign up as well as people looking to be hole sponsors.

“For a hundred dollars, we would have your business name, your family name, your book club name on one of the holes during the event,” said Modic.

To register or learn more about becoming a hole sponsor contact NATH at 715-369-9777 or 715-482-7727. You can also email nathnorthwoods@gmail.com
