Oneida County Economic Development Corporation Hosting Summit to Support Businesses

PIXABAY.COM

Nothing has done to the economy quite like what the COVID-19 pandemic has done.

The whiplash unemployment rates and changes in spending habits has a lot of businesses wondering what will be next.

“I think the folks that suffered the most are small businesses, particularly service type businesses where that personal contact was important. As we’re coming out of the pandemic, what we’re trying to do is just how do we support them,” said Jeff Verdoorn, Executive Director of the Oneida County Economic Development Corporation.

The group is holding an economic summit called ‘Economic Development in a post COVID World.’

Businesses owners will have access to resources that can help build and grow their companies.

“We want to get as many businesses represented as possible in the same room in folks that can provide resources,” said Verdoorn.

The event is open to large manufacturers, small businesses, service providers, entrepreneurs, and everything in between.

It’s being held at the Pines Event Center in Rhinelander on June 10th. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.

The event is free, but registration is required as it’s limited to 150 people.

“I think there’s things here, whether its revolving loan funds or information on how the American Rescue Plan money is going to be distributed, broadband infrastructure, workforce development. You just don’t know what resources are out there until you really take a look.”

You can learn more about the event and register on the OCEDC website.
