Marathon County Fields Comments on "Community For All" Proposal
Once again Marathon County residents were sharply divided over the latest iteration of the "Community for All" resolution.
They provided more than two hours of public input yesterday.
With nearly 60 residents signed up to give public comment, both sides were dug in.
“The word Christian means Christ follower. Looking to the life of Christ, Christ always went to the neediest”
“Bottom line this is our county, where we live, work and raise our babies. Stop appeasing external Marxist agendas. Get back to the work doing the job that county residents elected you to do”
Former Wausau School Board member and city council alder Mary Thao used her public comment time to talk about the less than welcoming things that Asians have experienced since the COVID-19 outbreak began.
“From firearms being flashed at us, stares of disgust, to being coughed at, raced off the streets in our vehicles or physically charged at… all acts of intimidation”
There was no vote taken on the matter Thursday.
A final vote will be held during Tuesday's adjourned annual meeting.
