Oneida County snowmobile trails opening Tuesday
The Oneida County and Forest County snowmobile trails will be opening for the 2021-2022 season on Tuesday, December 28.
The Oneida County Forestry Department made the announcement Monday after the county saw several fresh inches of snow overnight and more is expected Tuesday evening.
The Forestry Department says all lake and river trails in Oneida County are considered unsafe and should not be utilized until they have been clearly marked by a local snowmobile club.
It also warns the trails will be in rough, early season condition when they open at 8:00 a.m.
Forest County trails will open at noon on Tuesday.
Vilas County open its snowmobile trails Monday.
Iron County will be reopening its trails Wednesday. The Forestry Department closed the trails three days after opening due to an unusual storm that brought strong winds and warm temperatures to the region.
