Tomahawk's Nelson Joins Race In 35th Assembly District

Nelson for the North

A former Tomahawk City Council President will run to replace Republican Mary Felzkowski in the State Assembly.

Forestry worker Don Nelson, who also served on the Lincoln County Board, has announced his candidacy as a Republican.

In a release, Nelson praised the work of Felzkowski in the State Assembly and Tom Tiffany in the State Senate.

Tiffany is running for Congress, while Felzkowski is running for his seat in the Assembly.

Nelson said his family tree in Tomahawk goes back four generations, and he plans to stand up for northern Wisconsin if elected.

One other candidate has already declared his candidacy for the seat, Lincoln County Board Supervisor Calvin Callahan, a fellow Republican.
