Eagle River Postpones July 4th Activities

Wikimedia Commons Royalbroil

Eagle River has joined the communities postponing or changing July 4th activities.

Amid concerns of COVID-19, the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, along with the Eagle River Business Association and VFW Post 8637 made the difficult decision to postpone the Fourth of July Parade, fireworks, and Party in the Street until 2021.

Officials say the organizations together considered a variety of options to hold the annual event with a new setup and layout. However, leaders felt that the parade and the Party in the Street could not be held in a manner safe enough to protect guests and residents from the possibility of spreading COVID-19.

The fireworks are being postponed due to a lack of funding caused by the virus.

More information is on the Chamber website at eagleriver.org or call the chamber.
