Veterans Town Hall Set For Tomahawk In September

Wikimedia Commons

Veterans and their families and the public are invited to a Northwoods town hall next month to hear updates about health care and other topics.

The town hall will be in Tomahawk at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12. The town hall will be held at the Tomahawk Community Bank located at 15 East Wisconsin Ave.

Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center spokesperson Brad Nelson outlines the event...

"....We are inviting anyone, veterans, their families and the general public to attend the upcoming town hall. These town halls are not limited to those who use our services. We welcome any veterans and their families who may not be enrolled in VA healthcare to come and learn about the services and benefits we provide. Leaders from the VA medical center and county Veterans Service Officers will be on hand to provide a program on the VA's new ititiatives and programs...."

One of the new initiatives is the Whole Health program.

Nelson says any questions about VA health care is welcome. He says for veterans already enrolled and using VA healthcare, it will provide them the opportunity to learn about services they were not aware of and to provide feedback on the care provided.

Any questions can be directed to VA Public Affairs Officer Brad Nelson at 800-215-8262, extension 32001 or the Lincoln County Veteran Service Office.
