Pedestrian killed trying to cross U.S. Highway 51 in Woodruff

A pedestrian died in a crash Friday evening on Highway 51 at Lemma Creek Road in the Town of Woodruff.

Mary Ellen Zlensky, 71, of Minocqua, was trying to cross four lanes of traffic when she was hit by a pickup truck.

Zlensky died at the scene.

The 52-year-old man driving the truck was not injured.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.

The driver is cooperating in the investigation.
