The Northwoods’ most famous mythical creature has his eyes set on the White House. The Rhinelander Hodag announced his campaign for presidency this morning at the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce. Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Bill Clow spoke on his behalf.
“He’s running on Rhinelander values.. Rhinelander values are work hard, value family and friends, enjoy nature... Other planks on his platform are building a better downtown, bringing more visitors to Rhinelander, especially the downtown area, end boredom by getting to people to play the Hungry Hodag app, and making vacations great again by encouraging people to come visit Rhinelander.”
Clow says the Chamber decided to run the Hodag for president as a way to support businesses downtown and to show off Rhinelander’s unique mascot.
He says supporters can pick up Hodag yard signs, buttons and t-shirts at several downtown businesses.
