Nicolet College Expands ‘Three for Free’ Program to Help Students Impacted by Pandemic

Nicolet College

For many people, the COVID-19 Pandemic has meant the partial or complete loss of income.

Some of those people may take this as an opportunity to further their education. Nicolet College is helping them pay for some of their college credits.

Starting with Spring Term 2021, new students enrolled at Nicolet College can get three of their college credits for free.

Nicolet College Dean of Enrollment Erika Warning-Meyer said the student has to prove they were financially impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The program is also open to students who are continuing their education at Nicolet and have experienced unemployment any time after March 13 of this year.

“In thinking about attending college, finances is the one thing I hear students talk about and this just takes the burden of finances away from students by providing them with free college credits if they’re eligible,” said Warning-Meyer.

Students can apply for the program on Nicolet College's website.

“At the end of the term, as long as they successfully completed the course, they don’t have to pay for those three college credits. It’s a great way for them to get started on their educational journey without having to make such a big financial investment,” said Warning-Meyer.

Warning-Meyer said if a student needs financial assistance but doesn’t qualify for the Three for Free program, there are a lot of different options.

“There’s so many financial opportunities available for students, not just this program. I would definitely recommend students who are interested and have questions contact us,” said Warning-Meyer.

Students can call (715) 365-4493 with questions.
